Keeping your automatic garage door working properly requires careful attention to each of its many working parts. When the door doesn’t open or close on command, installing high-quality Craftsman garage door opener parts can be the way to restore the system to proper functionality. Check the Remote Control The lightest and most easily damaged of garage door opener repair parts, the handheld remote control is often at the root of a malfunctioning garage door. Check to ensure the remote’s battery is installed and properly seated. It may be necessary to replace the battery to determine whether lack of signal is the reason your garage door has stopped responding. Inspect the Electrical Wiring If the door does not respond to commands from the remote control or the hardwired wall unit, it is possible the wires have developed a short. Ensuring that your garage door’s wires are intact and connected to their ports is an important step in any garage door opener troubleshooting. Consider the Safety Sensor Automatic garage doors are equipped with safety sensors that are designed to shut down the door’s operation if they sense an obstruction in the door’s path. A short in this sensor can cause the unit to override your commands and deactivate the closing mechanism. Make sure nothing is blocking the sensor’s beam and check the sensor’s eyes to see if they need repair or replacement. It would be much better if it had an open/close widget for my home screen. And seriously? No support for Google Home/Assistant, or at the very least IFTTT? No way to integrate it into my home automation? I should have bought a Chamberlain. Cliff Winegar Just installed. I just installed the opener and activated the app. It was a simple app to get started and it works just fine. It’s a great option while being away from home or even tucked into bed at night. One thing I find bothersome is that there isn’t any kind of confirmation asking if I really want to open or close the door. It just happens If I acidentally brush across the door icon. I don’t unknowingly want to open it as I am putting the phone back into my pocket after checking the door. Curtis Alexander I would love to recommend the app, however, it will not allow me to create an account. I contacted Craftsman, and the customer service rep told me that they were having problems with the app. I initially thought that it was my phone. The gizmo is 30 yards from the door it controls. No problem with MotoX phone. Highly recommended!
